DEA Registration – Renewal Notice Changes

New this year the US Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) will no longer mail a second paper renewal notification for your DEA registration. Instead it will be sent to you by email.

All licensed medical practitioners who prescribe controlled substances must secure a registration from the DEA every three years (3). This will go by your initial DEA registration date.

You will receive your paper reminder about two months before it expires, followed by an email reminder for those who have a DEA registration.
